MAY 2023 - SURVEY OF MEMBERS AND EMPLOYERS
The Government Superannuation Fund Authority (the Authority) is committed to continual improvement of the services provided to members and employers They are currently undertaking a survey of members and employers seeking feedback for this purpose. They have engaged AK Research to carry out the survey, commencing in May 2023. AK Research will contact members and employers by email. In the survey, they will ask you to rate your experience working with the Authority and the schemes administrator, Datacom Connect. Typically the survey takes about ten minutes to complete. We very much appreciate you spending the time to give your feedback and we will certainly make good use of what you tell us as we seek to improve and develop our services in the future. Cost of Living Increase Letters advising the April increases are distributed annually to all eligible members in mid-March. The increase takes effect in the first April pay date each year. Certificate of Identity And Survival Identity and Survival certificates are sent to members residing outside of New Zealand with the Cost of Living Increase letters posted each March. Members are requested to check their details on the certificate, sign the certificate then post or email the signed certificate to GSF by May of each year. It is important that the signed certificate is returned to GSF by this date to avoid interruption to payment of entitlements. If you live outside of New Zealand and have not received your Certificate of Identity and Survival, please contact the Datacom GSF Schemes Administration team (see contact details below). Annual Future Entitlement Statement Letters advising future entitlements will be distributed to all contributing members in late September/early October. Death of an Annuitant It is important Datacom is notified as soon as possible when a member passes away. This is to ensure future annuity payments are ceased promptly and no resulting overpayment occurs which would be repayable to GSF. It also enables Datacom to confirm any spouse entitlements that may be due. Pensions Tax Free As from 1 April 1990 all Government Superannuation Fund pensions became free of tax, therefore members no longer need to declare their allowance to the Department of Inland Revenue. |
Earnings Certificates may be supplied on request as proof of income for Community Services Card, Disability Allowance etc. Please contact Datacom GSF Schemes Administration if you require an Earnings Certificate or Cost of Living Advice Notice. |
Payment to Overseas
Bank Account.
Certain countries have
been approved by the GSF Authority for the payment of annuities
to members located overseas. If you elect to become a permanent
resident overseas, it may be possible for you to have your
allowance paid into an overseas bank account. Please contact
Datacom GSF Schemes Administration if you require more
information. Please note - a fee of $2.00 for each four weekly
payment processed is charged when the annuity is paid into an
Australian bank account and $9.00 when paid into a bank account
in other countries. Also, additional personal information, such
as your date of birth and address may need to be provided to the
paying bank as part of their anti-money laundering processes.
Datacom GSF Schemes Administration should be notified of any change to your address as a certificate requiring confirmation of the member's whereabouts is sent annually to all members in receipt of an annuity who are resident overseas. Failure to return the certificate will result in suspension of the allowance. |
