Payment to Overseas Bank Account.

Certain countries have been approved by the GSF Authority for the payment of annuities to members located overseas.  If you elect to become a permanent resident overseas, it may be possible for you to have your allowance paid into an overseas bank account.  Please contact Datacom GSF Schemes Administration if you require more information.  Please note - a fee of $5.00 for each four weekly payment processed is charged when the annuity is paid into an Australian bank account and $15.00 when paid into a bank account in other countries.  Also, additional personal information, such as your date of birth and address may need to be provided to the paying bank as part of their anti-money laundering processes.

Datacom GSF Schemes Administration should be notified of any change to your address as a certificate requiring confirmation of the member's whereabouts is sent annually to all members in receipt of an annuity who are resident overseas. Failure to return the certificate will result in suspension of the allowance.

Cost of Living 2016
GSF is governed by the Government Superannuation Fund Act 1956 (the Act).  Under the provisions of the Act, your annuity is adjusted annually in line with the movement in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) as certified by Statistics New Zealand, provided the movement is one half of one per cent (0.5%) or more.

The movement in the CPI for the year ended 31 December 2015 was 0.1% which is less than 0.5%. The last time the CPI movement was less than 0.5% was in 1999.

The GSF Authority has confirmed, in line with the provisions of the Act as noted above, there will be no increase to annuities in 2016.

When the increase in the CPI since the last adjustment exceeds 0.5%, cost of living adjustments will recommence.  At that time annuities will be adjusted to reflect the movement in the CPI since the last adjustment, which will take into account the 0.1% CPI increase for the year ended 31 December 2015.

Letters confirming membersí current annuities will be distributed to all members on 10 March 2016.

2016 Identity and Survival Certificate
Identity and Survival Certificates were sent to members residing outside of New Zealand with the 2016 Cost of Living letters posted on 10 March 2016.

Members are requested to check their details on the certificate, sign the certificate, then post the original of the signed certificate to GSF by
21 April 2016. It is important the signed certificate is returned to GSF by this date to avoid interruption to payment of entitlements.

If you live outside New Zealand and have not received your 2016 Identity and Survival Certificate, please contact the Datacom GSF Schemes Administration team (see contact details below).
